The First Post

Ahh, the infamous first post. Probably one of the only posts that is very important to the author, but the least important to the readers. The blog is a lump of clay most likely at this point, and with each successive post, the author whittles it down to be something they may have not even intended it to be.

I have very exact intentions for this blog. I want to put my thoughts on digital paper about Christianity and my daily struggles with the natural self, which is sinful, and my goal, which is to become more and more like Jesus. Maybe this blog will show someone that Christians aren’t perfect. We do sometimes lose our cool. We do sometimes make mistakes.

It’s much like Jacob’s wrestle with God in Genesis 32:24. That’s how I feel sometimes. I know that I want to be blessed and enter the kingdom of heaven, and I have a Bible that teaches me exactly how to do that. When you try to do this in the world we live in today, it’s not quite that easy though. We’re constantly taught to be self-reliant. Get an education, get a job, buy your own car, buy your own house. When God teaches to rely on him, and him alone. A step of faith on unknown ground is what he really wants. For me to trust him.

As I read books, have thoughts, and listen to others, I’ll try to put it into my words here. It’s not an attempt to minister to anyone, I’m not a minister. It’s just a diary of my inner effort to become a testament to how great being believing in God and being a Christian can be. If I can help one person atleast question their life, or visit their local church, then it’s well worth the extra time it takes to log it here.

I also invite anyone and everyone to comment with your thoughts. Part of the purpose is correction. I have several areas of Christianity that I am unsure about. I have several topics that I often question in my mind as to what is the right way. Please don’t hesitate to give advice or point me in the right direction. Every topic is open for discussion.
